This is Me Training launched the ‘Sew Good’ club in Summer 2023, as part of our TRASH to TREND programmes … and we are delighted with how popular this has been!

At the ‘Sew Good Club’ we design, we sew, and we learn new skills in fashion patterns. Learners were invited to bring any items of clothing that they need upstyling, altering or mending.

Through these sessions we promote creativity, and encourage partipants to engage with people from the wider community. This has helped with peoples confidence, as well as their English language skills. We also promote learning in terms of fasion and sewing, as well as basic literacy and numeracy which is embedded into the program.

These sessions have brought together people from a diverse range of backgrounds / communities, sewing and interacting together … having fun and making friends.
